About:

Delaware County Community College is an accredited, public two-year college located in Media, Pennsylvania. The college serves 13,000 students, including more than 200 international students from over 50 countries. Students enjoy a safe, high-tech campus surrounded by nature, with easy access to the dynamic and historical city of Philadelphia, 22km away. Philadelphia is the fifth largest city in the United States. Within hours students can explore New York city, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Boston, as well as beautiful beaches and mountains.

Media is a comfortable suburban community known as “Everybody’s Hometown”. It is safe and quiet with convenient shopping, theaters, restaurants and apartments. The easy-to-use public transportation from media links you to Philadelphia. Media is considered america’s first fair trade town.

At Delaware County Community College, you will receive a top-quality American education at a much lower cost. Compared to four-year colleges and universities in the area, our tuition is the most affordable. Plus, our dedicated faculty and expert staff will help you succeed every step of the way. The College’s mission is to offer educational programs and services that are accessible, flexible and comprehensive.

You can choose to transfer to a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree or earn a career degree (associate degree). We also offer many certificate programs

Athletics:

The Delaware County Community College athletics team are known as the “Phantoms”. They participate in the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference and are members of the National Junior  College Athletics Association (NJCAA).

Mens’ teams: baseball, basketball, soccer, and golf

Women’s teams: basketball, track and field, volleyball

School Information:

Housing:

International students who are at least 18 years of age have a variety of housing options from which to choose, including housing with family or friends, apartment living, host family housing, and student house-shares. The Housing Coordinator may place students with homestay families or provides information to students who prefer house-shares or apartment living.

Programs:

A wide variety of programs available to international students including health care management and health studies, accounting, business administration, business management, communication arts, global studies, liberal studies, information technology, engineering, and many more.

Entry Requirements:

  • Complete the Delaware County Community international application for admission including the Affadavit of Support
  • Submit proof of high school/secondary school completion with an official report equivalent to a US high school diploma
  • Submit an official bank statement confirmation that funds are available to cover the cost of at least the first year’s estimated tuition, fees and living expenses
  • Students who will be under the age of 18 at the time of enrollment must submit a Medical Release form with their application for admission. Acceptances will not be issued until this form is received.
  • Students who wish to transfer from another U.S. college or university into Delaware County Community College must submit the International Student (F-1) Transfer Request

No TOEFL, SAT or ACT is required.

Tuition & Fees:

Fees for international students are based on credit hours. The cost is $339 per hour for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Financial Aid:

There is no financial aid or scholarship available for international students. However some international students can work on campus to earn spending money.
