Founded in 1925, Gannon University is located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Hundreds of thousands of visitors come to Pennsylvania’s fourth-largest city for seven miles of beaches, tax-free shopping, minor league sports and a vibrant entertainment and cultural scene. Gannon’s urban campus is at the center of it. Only a two-hour drive from Cleveland, Ohio; Buffalo, New York; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Niagara Falls, Canada, Erie has small-town friendliness and big-city attractions. Erie and its surrounds also offer Gannon students numerous internship and co-op job opportunities with government agencies, local businesses and hospitals. Erie was recently named amongst the Top 25 Best Small College Towns in USA Today’s 2016 edition of ‘Best Small College Towns’.
Gannon’s faculty and staff prepare students to be global citizens through programs grounded in the liberal arts and sciences and professional specializations. Around 4,500 students are enrolled at Gannon, with some 500 of them being international students representing 40 different countries. Ongoing support is provided for international students by members of the Office of Global Support and Student Engagement at Gannon. This includes airport pick up and help to get settled; support for immigration, cultural adjustment and special needs; transportation to nearby shopping areas; excursions to Niagara Falls and other regional destinations; and ongoing referrals to academic advisors and other support services as needed.

Athletics:
Gannon University athletic teams are known as the ‘Golden Knights’. They participate in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and are ranked in the NCAA Division II.
Men’s teams: Baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, swimming/diving, water-polo, and wrestling.
Women’s teams: Basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming/diving, volleyball, and water-polo.

Housing:
Gannon University offers housing in on-campus residence halls and off-campus apartments. The University housing regulations mandate that all students studying in their first through fourth semesters whose parents/guardians primary residence is outside the 25-mile radius of the University must reside in University housing.

Entry Requirements:
International applicants must:
- Submit an online application via Gannon University’s website
- Pay a non-refundable application fee ranging from $25-$100 (UStudy clients may be exempt from this fee)
- Submit evidence of English language proficiency if your native language is not English. This may include a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper test) or 79 (iBT); a minimum Pearson Test score of 53; or a minimum IELTS band score of 6.5
- Submit the affidavit of support form which is required for verification of financial resources in order to issue the I-20
- Submit official transcripts of school results (in English) (UStudy may assist with providing an official translation of transcripts into an Americanized format and convert your scores into a GPA equivalent)
- Submit a ‘Statement of Purpose’ – this statement should include information concerning your life and specific purpose for applying to Gannon
- Submit one letter of recommendation

Financial Aid/Scholarships:
All Gannon University international students are eligible to an international award of $16,000USD. Students whose academic profile is equivalent to 3.75 GPA (on the US 4.0 base system) could qualify for an additional Academic Award of up to $4,000. This brings a total financial aid from Gannon to $20,000USD.
