Newsflash: Automated Form I-94, Effective April 26, 2013

U.S._Customs_and_Border_Protection_logo

Effective on April 26, 2013, a new US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) rule went into effect to automate the Form I-94, “Arrival/ Departure Record.” With the new automated Form I-94 process, CBP officers will create an electronic automated arrival record during the admissions process for nonimmigrants entering the United States at an air or sea port of entry. CBP will no longer issue a paper Form I-94 to most travelers.

If students will continue their studies in the USA after this semester and plan on leaving the USA during academic break, they will not receive a paper I-94 card when they return to the USA.

For travelers who received an electronic Form I-94, they may obtain a copy here.
