PRESS RELEASE: America remains the number 1 study destination

————————— PRESS RELEASE —————————

The Go USA Education Fair will help you explore countless study options

America remains the number 1 study destination

8 September 2017, VOORBURG – For the fifth consecutive year in a row, UStudy is organizing its unique Go USA Education Fair; this year in cooperation with GO USA Talent in Sports (GUTS). On Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October, hundreds of interested students and parents will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from dozens of educational institutions.

The United States is still the most popular study destination for students from around the world. An increasing number of Dutch students and student-athletes are beginning to see the added value of studying in the US. In 2016, American colleges and universities welcomed a total of 1.2 million international students, more than 2,000 of which hailed from the Netherlands.

There is plenty to choose from among the almost 4,500 colleges and universities and over 30,000 high schools located throughout the country. The goal of the GO USA Education Fair is to provide visitors with unbiased information about the American education system and to learn about the wealth of study opportunities, whether in combination with sports or not, that the US has to offer.

For the 2017 edition of the Fair, several top schools have already confirmed their participation as exhibitors. In addition to prestigious high schools such as Wilbraham & Monson Academy and Orono High School, Ivy League universities such as Harvard, Yale and Cornell will also be present to answer questions about how to apply, enroll and fund a study at their respective schools.

For the first time ever, this unique educational fair will be organized in collaboration with GUTS. GUTS offers professional guidance to enthusiastic athletes who strive to combine their sports ambitions with a study program in the US. “Due to the sheer amount of options in the US, any level of athlete – from the recreational up through Olympic hopefuls – can combine his or her love of sports with studying. What makes this combination unique, is that in the US sports guidance is an integral part of the education program. As a result, a dual-program of sport and study in the US is the most optimal in the world,” according to Mark Schuurman, co-founder of GUTS.

The GO USA Education Fair will be held on Saturday 30 September at the Gemeentelijk Gymnasium Hilversum and on Sunday 1 October at the American International School of Rotterdam. This event is free to the public. Online registration is required.
