The University of Redlands is a dynamic private liberal arts and sciences university located in Redlands, in the Inland Empire of Southern California. Redlands’ 2,700 students from 30 countries study in 50 programs, many which are nationally and internationally recognized. The University of Redlands is ranked #12 among Universities in the Western United States by U.S. News and World Report. Students enjoy a residential campus (70% of students live on-campus) with over 120 student organizations and a study abroad participation rate of 60%. Small classes and a beautiful setting close to the beaches of the Pacific, Orange County Amusement Parks, and within one hour of five major airports are other attributes of the Redlands experience.

Athletics:

University of Redlands athletic teams are known as the ‘Bulldogs’. They are members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Association and are ranked in the NCAA Division III.

Men’s teams: Baseball, basketball, cross-country, diving, football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and water polo

Women’s teams: Basketball, cross-country, diving, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and water polo

Housing:

All students at the University of Redlands are required to live on campus for the duration of their undergraduate career except in specific circumstances. Redlands students place a high priority on creating a genuine sense of community in our residence halls. Hall staff members and other student leaders play a pivotal role in planning hall activities and programs that encourage students to grapple with social and intellectual challenges.

Entry of requirements:

  • The Common Application, including the personal essay and University of Redlands member
  • $30 application fee
  • Official transcripts from all secondary schools attended
  • One letter of recommendation from guidance/college counselor and/or the Common Application Secondary school report
  • One letter of recommendation from a teacher who can speak to your academic ability
  • SAT or ACT score for students whose first language is English

Students whose first language is not English, may meet English proficiency by one of the following:

550 SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing

500 SAT Critical Reading

21 ACT English and Reading Sections

TOEFL minimum 80iBT/550

IELTS minimum 6.5

Tuition:

The breakdown of tuition and fees for 2017-2018 is as follows:

  • Tuition (Fall, Spring and May terms): $47,722
  • Room & board (double occupancy, standard meal plan): $13,862
  • Associated student fee (student activities): $350
  • Matriculation fee (one-time fee for all new students): $150
  • Annual Total: $62,084

*Additional costs: Books and Supplies: $1,850 (estimate only)

Health insurance: $1,741 for 2016-2017 academic year. The insurance fee for the 2017-2018 is TBD. Students must provide proof of personal major medical coverage before the start of each academic year for waiver of insurance costs.

Financial Aid/Scholarships:

More than 90% of students at the University of Redlands receive financial aid of some kind. The university can offer up to $27,000 in merit scholarships as well as limited need-based financial aid.
